Dry eye is one of the most under-treated conditions in eye care. Patients often spend years being told to try more drops before they find Dr. Mahnia Madan — she built her practice to change that.
After completing her residency in ocular disease at the Eye Center of Texas and earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University, she developed a clinical approach that goes deeper than most. She doesn’t just treat symptoms — she looks for the underlying cause, whether that’s gland dysfunction, inflammation, nerve involvement, or a systemic condition like Sjögren’s syndrome that’s gone undetected.
Her clinics in Vancouver and North Vancouver offer advanced therapies including IPL, PRP, and scleral lenses. She also co-founded MYE Drop™, a PRP therapy made from a patient’s own blood, developed to heal the eye surface in cases where standard drops have stopped working. It’s the kind of innovation that comes from years of seeing patients that other clinics couldn’t help.
Dr. Madan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Immediate Past President of BC Doctors of Optometry, and serves on the boards of the Dry Eye Society of the Americas and Canadian Women in Eye Care. She has delivered over 65 invited lectures across North America and lectures at Pacific University College of Optometry.
She has spent 15 years proving that dry eye is not a minor condition. Her patients already knew that. They just needed someone who believed them.
